TSMC is devoted to improving the quality of life in Taiwan society. We hope to increase the public interest and participation in art and cultural events through the TSMC Education and Culture Foundation's sponsorship. The Foundation invited the prestigious Berliner Philharmoniker, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and other renowned musical groups to visit Taiwan, and also sponsored “La Monde de Picasso”, “Leonardo De Vinci Exhibition in Taipei and Kaohsiung”, “The World of Heavenly Khan- Treasure of Tang Dynasty Exhibit”, “Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris – The Exhibition of Modern Art of Paris” and “Millet –the Beauty of Countryside” renowned exhibitions and so on.

The protection of cultural assets and supporting the revitalization of historical sites is also one of our focuses. In 1990, the Foundation provided funding for the restoration of the former American embassy, bringing new life to the historical landmark that had been defunct for years. It was reborn in the form of SPOT Film House, which becomes a celebrated cultural showcase through its promotion of Taiwanese movies. We have also taken part in the historical landmark revival management program spearheaded by the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Taipei. We sponsored the monthly Literature Salon at Taipei Story House since 2006. We hope that through regular book reading events by authors, the cultural heritage is revitalized.

As an extension of the Aesthetic Education, the Foundation also sponsored medias to produce various cultural and educational programs. From 2007 TSMC commissioned Taiwan’s Public Television Service to produce and broadcast a children's television program—An Enchanted Journey through the National Palace Museum. The lively and in-depth TV program brings the richness of the museum to every family and makes the precious artifacts more accessible to young viewers. In 2008 we sponsored IC Broadcasting Company to invite the Master, Mr. Hsin I-Yun, to produce “Confucius’ Analects in Hsin’s View”. Through the broadcasting program we hope to bring the society more humanity.
