In addition to providing financial sponsorships for education and culture activities,
the TSMC Education and Culture Foundation participates in social services through
the TSMC Volunteer Program. In 2004, the TSMC Education and Culture Foundation
founded the TSMC Volunteer Program and invited TSMC employees and their families
to join the program and participate in volunteer services. The volunteer programs
enrich the lives of TSMC's employees and provide them with opportunities to give
back to the community.
Currently, the TSMC Volunteer Program includes the TSMC Tour
Guide Volunteer Program, the TSMC Rural Schools Reading Volunteer
Program, and the TSMC Energy Conservation Volunteer Program.
In 2004, the TSMC Volunteer Program initiated and organized
the TSMC
Guide Volunteer Program for TSMC employees and families
to serve as guides during weekends at the National Museum of
Natural Sciences IC exhibit, which TSMC sponsors. During that
same year, the TSMC Volunteer Program also organized the
TSMC Book Reading Volunteer Program aimed at motivating
and bringing in resources to enhance the lives of rural schools'
children in Hsinchu and Tainan. In 2008, the TSMC Volunteer
Program took the lead to initiate the TSMC Energy Conservation
Volunteer Program to provide energy conservation expertise to
schools in Hsinchu and Tainan. Through a group of TSMC volunteers,
TSMC provides the environmental conversation diagnosis and suggestions
to assist the schools in energy saving improvement. |
